Hello! My name is Flo, and for those who don’t know me,
I am one of the Vets at Moloney Veterinary Clinics.
I have begun writing regular articles, which you can soon access on our website entitled 'Tuesday's Topic', to help you learn more about the essential ‘health care’ measures we advise, such as vaccinations, neutering and flea/tick/worm control.
I will also be covering the more common conditions or illnesses that may affect your pets, such as allergic disease, arthritis, anal gland problems, and urinary incontinence in dogs, and kidney disease, cystitis and hyperthyroidism in cats. Where possible, I will also tell you about some of those unusual cases we see, and what you should do at home in an emergency.
You can access a new article every 2 weeks, via a link on our
Facebook page or visit www.moloneyvets.co.uk where you will find Tuesday's Topic.
You will be able to read my first article on 16th April 2019, which covers the current debate over pet vaccinations. The next set of articles will come in a four part series, and cover the numerous ‘endo' (inside the body) and ‘ecto' (outside the body) parasites we advise you protect against. These include fleas, ticks, intestinal worms, heartworm and lungworm. The final article of the series will cover parasite control, and hopefully clarify some of the confusion as to which tablets/spot-ons do what, and how often they should be given.
I hope you enjoy my articles and please get in touch if you have any questions about them. Please also let us know if there is a topic you would particularly like me to cover - we would love to hear from you.
